Don’t Get Dirty!

“We’re going to a fancy restaurant,” said Mom.” I want everyone to look nice.” 

Daisy put on a pretty dress. The dress was white with pink flowers. She put on her best shoes. 

Ben put on his favorite sweater. Tom put on a nice shirt and pants. Then he put his favorite toy car in his pocket. The kids were ready. But Mom and Dad were not ready. 

The kids waited. Soon Dad was ready, but Mom was not. 

“Can we go outside?” asked Daisy. 

“Sure,” said Dad.” But don’t get dirty.” 

Daisy, Ben, and Tom went outside. Puddles were everywhere. 

“Puddles!” said Tom. Tom ran toward a puddle. 

“No, Tom!” said Daisy.” We need to look nice.” 

“Mud!” said Tom. He ran toward the big muddy area. 

“We can’t get dirty, Tom!” said Ben. 

Now Mom was ready. 

“Where are the kids?” she asked. 

“Outside,” said Dad. 

“Oh no!” said Mom.” The kids will get dirty!” 

Mom and Dad ran outside. But the kids were still clean! 

“Whew!” said Mom. 

The restaurant was very fancy. 

“Don’t we all look nice?”, asked Mom. 

Dad was eating, but later he spilled food onto his clothes. 

“Oops,” said Dad.
